About the Role

We are seeking a highly stable, grounded, and reliable Full-Time Nanny to provide safety-focused care for our newborn and 6-year-old. This is a position of trust that requires excellent emotional regulation, sound judgment, and consistent availability.

This is not a casual or flexible role. We are looking for someone who views this as a serious, long-term commitment and can remain calm, fully present, and dependable. Frequent schedule changes, social conflicts, or last-minute cancellations are not compatible with this position.

The parents will be present in the home most of the time. This role is intended to support us at home and provide flexibility for us to step out briefly for walks, errands, or social engagements, while knowing the children are in steady, capable hands.

If you are in a phase of life that requires ongoing emotional or medical support to function day-to-day, or if your availability is likely to change, this role is unlikely to be a good fit.

The Nanny will report to the household manager and father.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is experienced with both infants and school-age children, calm under pressure, highly reliable, and seeking a long-term position. They are proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a home where parents are often present.

What You’ll Do

Primary Responsibilities – Childcare Provide attentive, safe, and developmentally appropriate care for a newborn and a 6-year-old Lead simple reading and math homeschool work with 6 year old Engage children in age-appropriate play, activities, and outings Prepare meals and snacks for children Support naps, routines, and daily transitions Drive children to and from activities as needed (family vehicle provided or mileage reimbursed)

Newborn Care Experience with newborns (feeding, sleep routines, and developmental stages) strongly preferred

Secondary Responsibilities – Light Household Support Tidy children’s play areas and shared spaces used during shifts Children’s laundry and organization Light kitchen cleanup (dishes, surfaces) Assist with child-related scheduling and household organization

Note: Deep cleaning and detailed housekeeping are not part of this role. A professional housekeeper services the home weekly.

Professional Conduct & Expectations

Maintain professionalism, discretion, and reliability at all times No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use during work hours Follow established family routines and guidelines Promptly report any safety concerns, incidents, or emergencies No phone use when watching children

Travel (Occasional)

Travel may be requested and will occur only with the Nanny’s mutual agreement. All reasonable travel expenses (transportation, lodging, meals) will be covered by the Client.

Active childcare or duties: paid at the hourly rate Travel time: Paid at the hourly rate if traveling with the family or actively assisting Paid at 50% of the hourly rate if traveling solo

Personal/free time: Not compensated Overnight: $80 per night when not actively working Any overnight work is paid at the hourly rate

Paid Time Off (PTO)

A. Paid Holidays New Year’s Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Day After Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day

If required to work on one of these holidays, the Family Assistant will be paid double time.

B. Vacation Two (2) weeks of paid vacation annually (10 working days) Vacation requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance The Employer reserves the right to deny vacation requests due to scheduling conflicts

C. Sick Leave Five (5) paid sick days per calendar year Sick time must be reported by 7:00 AM on the day of the absence when possible

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record No prescriptions for medications which carry a warning re: impaired attention to operate heavy machinery and drive Strong communication and organizational skills Eligible to work in the U.S. Able to pass reference and background checks Candidates must pass a hair sample drug screening as a condition of employment. Cannabis use, including both medical and recreational, is prohibited for this position.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
