Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant (Aug. full-time days / Sept. afternoons only)

Family is seeking a reliable, organized Part-Time Family Nanny Assistant to support their family. This is a warm and welcoming family who is relocating to Alexandria, Virginia and is seeking a dependable, engaging, and organized Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant to support their two children, ages 7 and 4.

The family is looking for a caregiver who is kind but firm, reliable, experienced, and genuinely enjoys working with school-age children while also providing light family assistant support. The ideal candidate will be proactive, safety-conscious, and comfortable helping keep the household running smoothly.

Position Overview:

• Start Date: September 2026 (approximately)
• Location: Alexandria, VA
• Children: Ages 7 and 4
• Schedule: Approximately 25 guaranteed hours per week during the school year
• Typical Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Compensation: Approximately $30/hour
• Long-term position

Summer Transition:

Prior to the school-year schedule beginning, the selected nanny will provide approximately two weeks of full-day care to help create a smooth transition for the children and family.

Primary Responsibilities:

• School pick-up
• Transporting children to activities and appointments
• Homework assistance and academic support
• Planning engaging age-appropriate activities
• Outdoor play and outings
• Children's meal preparation
• Children's laundry
• Tidying children's spaces and common areas used during care
• Washing dishes used during care
• Grocery shopping and light family support as requested

Ideal Candidate:

• 3–5+ years of professional childcare experience
• Experience with multiple children
• Experience caring for both preschool and school-age children
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Strong references
• CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew)
• Organized, dependable, and proactive
• Educational background or strong academic support skills preferred
