Nanny/Caregiver for 12 yo daughter with Down Syndrome

Overview
We are a warm, faith-centered family looking for a caring, responsible, and engaging part-time nanny for our 12-year-old daughter with Down syndrome. We are looking for someone who will respect and support a nurturing environment grounded in kindness, integrity, patience, and consistency.

Our daughter is social, active, and full of joy—she loves singing, dancing, swimming, helping in the kitchen and spending time at the playground. We are looking for someone who is patient, loving, creative, and excited to support her development through play, daily routines, and a positive, encouraging atmosphere.

This is an ideal role for a student or someone seeking part-time hours with meaningful impact.

Responsibilities

● Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.

● Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning up after meals, tidying play areas and occasionally doing her laundry.

● Assist with daily care (dressing, hygiene, and toileting)

● Provide transportation from school to activities and home

● Maintain consistent routines and set loving, appropriate boundaries

● Support educational and developmental activities (reading, writing, tutoring as needed)

● Prepare healthy meals and snacks

● Supervise swimming and water activities

Schedule

● 25-30 hours per week

● Flexible schedule, including:

○ 3-4 weekday afternoons (approx. 2–7 PM)

○ 2 evenings per week

○ 5–10 weekend hours

○ Some overnights while parents are away

Requirements

● Childcare experience; special needs, education, or behavior therapy experience preferred

● Respect for a Christian, values-based home environment

● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

● Ability to swim well and supervise in water

● Current CPR certification

● Excellent communication skills; able to collaborate with parents and therapists

● Healthy, active lifestyle

● Authorized to work in the U.S.

● Willingness to travel domestically (up to 10 days)

● Background check and references required
