Nanny/Caregiver Respite Provider In Homecare Part time

Position Summary:
The family is seeking a compassionate, patient, and energetic part-time Nanny/Caregiver Respite Provider to offer in-home care and support for a 2-year-old child. This role is vital in providing relief to the parents by allowing them additional free time while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of their child. The client is unable to sit up unsupported and requires assistance with most activities of daily living. Care will involve hands-on support, close supervision, and physical assistance. The child weighs approximately 25 lbs, so the caregiver must be comfortable with lifting and providing mobility support.

The ideal candidate will have a background in child development and experience working with young children who have developmental or special needs. Assistance with daily stretches and developmental activities will be part of the role. Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, hands-on supervision and assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support
  • Assist with prescribed stretches and developmental exercises
  • Support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or other special needs using personalized care strategies
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing personal spaces
  • Monitor and document observations regarding condition or behavior and report changes promptly to family members or healthcare professionals
  • Safely assist with transfers and mobility, including lifting (approximately 25 lbs) and use of mobility equipment if needed

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, group homes, or nanny positions preferred
  • Experience working with infants/toddlers or children with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
  • Background in child development highly desirable
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, care planning, and medication management
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Additional certifications (hospice care, heavy lifting training, etc.) are a plus
  • Proven ability to safely lift and assist with mobility

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
