Manara School’s Mission

Manara School provides exceptional students with a world-class education based on ethics, academics, and diversity. We expect our students to become the passionate leaders required to shape a more prosperous and equitable world.

About Manara School

Manara School started its first year of operation in the Fall of 2023, with its inaugural class of 2028. The school is expected to grow to 500 students. As a co-educational residential school, with a mission to provide exceptional students with a world-class education based on ethics, academics, and diversity, Manara continues to build its organizational systems and infrastructure.

Manara School is seeking to hire a faculty member in Social Studies and History (الدراسات الاجتماعية and التاريخ), following the Egyptian national curriculum, for its 2026-2027 academic year. All faculty contribute to the evening and weekend residential program as well as to the academic program, and most live on campus.

The successful faculty member should be prepared to teach national courses at any grade level from 8-12, but will likely teach grades 8 and 10 in 2026-27. Ability to teach Islamic Studies is a plus. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to prepare students for national exams using modern pedagogical strategies such as differentiation, student-directed inquiry, and experiential learning.

The successful candidate will report to the Dean of Academics and will also work in close collaboration with the Dean of Students with regard to their residential duties.

  • Any academic, supervisory, educational or other activities that are typically recognized (internationally, regionally or locally) as part of the job title or part of boarding school activities, and work as assigned by direct supervisor or the Head of School

Qualifications and Requirements

Fundamentally, Manara’s teachers are knowledgeable, joyful, and caring mentors, both in and out of the classroom. To help Manara students develop as leaders, faculty empower and guide them towards exercising curiosity, problem-solving, perseverance, resilience, and responsible decision-making. As faculty members with the rare opportunity to help build a new, world-class residential school program, our teachers will manifest flexibility, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial spirit, and will celebrate the school’s Egyptian identity within a diverse global context.
