Natural Gas Designer

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Natural Gas Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing natural gas distribution systems and a strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and utility requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design natural gas distribution systems, including mains and service lines
• Prepare construction drawings, work orders, and cost estimates
• Interpret and apply local, state, and federal codes and regulations
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, field crews, and utility clients
• Conduct field visits as needed to verify site conditions
• Utilize CAD and/or GIS software for system design
• Ensure all designs meet safety and compliance standards

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in natural gas distribution design (preferred)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
• Working knowledge of industry standards (e.g., DOT Part 192)
• Strong understanding of gas utility construction practices
• Ability to read and interpret maps, plats, and construction drawings
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license (if field visits required)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with gas utility companies
• Knowledge of permitting processes
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related field
