**This position is with our Phoenix Framing division. The Mobile Crane Operator will safely operate mobile cranes to transfer heavy objects from one location to another. There is will be travel though out the state and South Carolina**

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Must be NCCCO certified
  • Operates specialized machinery such as telescope booms and hydraulic cranes
  • Calculates load capacity, determining weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of crane based on manufactures specifications
  • Inspects clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure there is no accidents or damage to employees, buildings, loads, or equipment
  • Inspects and assesses ground conditions to ensure that the crane can be set up safely
  • Inspects cranes for defects and wear prior to operations; performs necessary repairs or maintenance
  • Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices
  • Maintains logs and records of operations activities
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Must be NCCCO certified
  • Experience in crane set-up and tear down
  • Experience with Telescopic Boom Rough Terrain Cranes
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems
  • Considerable knowledge of: rough and finish carpentry; tools, equipment, materials and safety practices of carpentry work; building techniques of new and remodel construction; masonry, concrete, and wood construction.
  • Current OSHA 30 Safety Trained Certification, or achievement of within six months of hire, maintenance of active certification status
  • Able to work with little supervision and complete assigned tasks
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability in problem-solving
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to main records
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems

Work environment and physical demands:

  • Occasional exposure to weather, vibration, dust and fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicals
  • Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
  • Constant ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, and possess depth perception
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting and climb on and off flatbed trucks and crane
  • The noise intensity level is high
  • Reliable commute to jobsites in the Carolinas (Required)
