Job Summary A qualified NDT Technician is required to perform non-destructive testing inspections on materials, components, and structures to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The role involves detecting defects without causing damage, supporting quality assurance processes, and maintaining inspection documentation.
- Conduct NDT inspections using techniques such as UT (Ultrasonic Testing), RT (Radiographic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), and VT (Visual Testing)
- Interpret and evaluate test results to identify defects, discontinuities, or irregularities
- Ensure all inspections are carried out in accordance with ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO standards
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain proper documentation
- Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment and ensure proper functioning
- Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, supervisors, and project teams
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and radiation safety (for RT methods)
- Assist in auditing and quality control processes
- Monitor and verify welding, fabrication, and structural integrity
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of NDT methods and inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
- Familiarity with international codes and standards
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
- Basic computer skills for report preparation
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
