Need HR for recruting the Delivery Drivers

Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and energetic HR professional to lead the recruitment process for delivery drivers. This role is vital in building a strong team of dependable drivers who excel in customer service and efficient route delivery. You will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and onboarding qualified candidates to ensure smooth operations across our delivery network. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for talent, excellent communication skills, and a passion for connecting people with meaningful roles that keep our logistics moving forward.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified delivery driver candidates.
• Screen applications, conduct interviews, and assess candidates’ driving skills and experience with commercial vehicles such as box trucks and heavy-duty trucks.
• Verify driving records, licenses, and certifications including courier, <PERSON> driver, forklift operation, pallet jack handling, manual transmission driving, and route driving experience.
• Coordinate background checks, drug testing, and vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Manage onboarding processes by providing necessary training on load & unload procedures, safety protocols, customer service expectations, and route planning.
• Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities and candidate information in the applicant tracking system.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to identify staffing needs related to delivery operations and optimize driver schedules for maximum efficiency.

Experience

• Proven experience in recruiting delivery drivers or similar roles within logistics or transportation industries.
• Strong understanding of commercial driving requirements including box truck operation, heavy lifting, moving tasks, forklift certification, pallet jack handling, and route driving.
• Familiarity with customer service principles to ensure drivers deliver exceptional service to clients.
• Experience with warehouse operations or logistics environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and vehicle maintenance standards.
• Ability to evaluate driving skills through practical assessments or road tests.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain job expectations and safety procedures to candidates.
