Overview
We are seeking two highly motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to join our dynamic mental health team. THIS WORK IS IN AN INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL WHERE YOU WILL SEE 25-30 PATIENTS EACH. In this vital role, you will deliver expert psychiatric care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide comprehensive assessments and treatments to diverse patient populations. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and diagnostic assessments using EMR systems
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Administer medications including psychopharmacology treatments, Botox for specific conditions, and dermal fillers when appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide telehealth consultations utilizing telehealth experience to reach patients in diverse locations.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and crisis management strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and CPT coding standards for billing purposes.
- Discharge Summaries/Medication reconciliation upon discharge.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in psychiatric mental health (PMHNP).
- Proven experience working with behavioral health populations across various settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred), or assisted living facilities.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration protocols for acute pain management and sedation procedures like spinal taps when necessary.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient record management.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and mental status evaluations.
