Neonatal NP – Flexible Locum | Choose Your Shift | Up to $100/hr

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in a flexible locum role in an inpatient NICU setting, designed to fit your schedule! This exciting opportunity allows you to choose your shifts — choose from 6, 16, or 24-hour shifts — work in diverse neonatal care settings, and earn competitive hourly rates, making it an ideal fit for NNPs who want to maximize earning potential, control their schedule, or balance locum work.

The facility provides comprehensive neonatal care to the region, with experienced neonatologists and attending physicians available on-site or within 30 minutes for consultation and emergent support. When possible, two NNPs cover the shift together to manage the patient census collaboratively — you won't be navigating this alone.

What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care for an inpatient census of up to 30 patients
  • Perform routine neonatal procedures with attending physician backup available as needed
  • Collaborate with on-site neonatologists and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Maintain current CPR and NRP certifications
  • Coordinate and document care using established clinical protocols

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Flexible shift structure: choose 6, 16, or 24-hour shifts to fit your lifestyle (Day & Night Coverage Available)
  • 24-hour shifts mean fewer days on-site and more days off
  • No call required outside of scheduled shifts
  • Collaborative model — ideally two NNPs on shift to share patient load
  • Attending physician backup available within 30 minutes for night coverage
  • Immediate start available — credentialing under 30 days
  • Malpractice insurance fully covered

Compensation & Benefits

  • Up to $100/hr (commensurate with experience)
  • Malpractice insurance fully covered
  • Locum tenens — ongoing assignment starting March
  • Immediate hire — under 30 days

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted APRN license in West Virginia
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) certification required
  • Current CPR and NRP certifications required
  • 1–3+ years of neonatal NP experience
  • Board certification negotiable
  • Prescriptive authority not required
  • Experience with routine neonatal procedures

This is an outstanding locum opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner seeking flexibility, competitive pay, and meaningful neonatal care in a well-supported inpatient environment — with year-round outdoor adventure in West Virginia right outside your door.
