.NET Architect

One of our government clients is seeking an experienced part-time .NET Architect with strong project management and business analysis skills. The role involves assessing the functionality of approximately 20 custom applications and researching options for their replacement. These applications are primarily developed in C# with a SQL backend. This position requires direct collaboration with business users and subject matter experts, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Architect will regularly meet with city employees either in person or via video conferencing between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. Outside of these hours, work can be completed independently with a flexible schedule. The role also requires strong workshop facilitation, communication, and documentation skills. In addition, the Architect will be responsible for directing the work of a business analyst. This opportunity is scheduled to begin in 2026, with the possibility of extension through 2027.

Qualification:

4-year college degree or equivalent technical study.

8 years of experience in analyzing, determining, and documenting functional requirements. 8 years of experience in providing definitions on how applications support business requirements. 8 years of experience in developing detailed definitions on how applications support business requirements. 8 years of experience in coordinating design and development of work estimates, acting as the primary point of contact, and assisting in managing and directing application team processes. 8 years of experience in organizing and preparing work effectively to enable proactive problem resolution. 8 years of experience in collaborating with clients to identify the direction of software solutions. 8 years of experience in ensuring business requirements are fully supported by software applications. 8 years of experience in understanding specific business needs along with the overall business strategy of business customers. 8 years of experience in ensuring application designs remain within the defined project scope. 8 years of experience in providing structured work planning covering scope, resources, commitments, quality, risks, tasks, and acceptance criteria. 8 years of experience in guiding business analyst processes and leading work planning and design activities. 8 years of experience in working closely with customer business units to understand their processes. 8 years of experience in collaborating with business units and clients to define software direction and ensure alignment with business requirements. 8 years of experience in ensuring goals for Functional Architects are met and managing team commitments effectively. 8 years of experience in analyzing, defining, and documenting how applications support functional and business requirements in coordination with Functional Architects. 8 years of experience in researching alternatives to replace custom applications and proposing leadership solutions. 8 years of experience in developing business documentation and presentations, and presenting recommendations to leadership and executives.
