The Role
he Network Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting automation solutions that enhance network operations, improve service consistency, and strengthen security and compliance across Brennan and customer environments.

This role focuses on building and maintaining automation frameworks, integrating operational systems, and improving efficiency across network provisioning, monitoring, and compliance processes. The Engineer works collaboratively with Network Engineering, NOC/SOC, Architecture, and Service Delivery teams to translate operational requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable automation capabilities.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automation tools and scripts for provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows.
  • Building reusable automation modules to support standardised deployments and configuration enforcement.
  • Developing and maintaining integrations with REST APIs, RESTCONF, vendor tools, monitoring tools, CMDBs, and ITSM platforms.
  • Supporting Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) pipelines and automation frameworks using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, version control processes, and automated testing practices.
  • Assisting in the development of compliance validation, configuration drift detection, and automated remediation capabilities.
  • Developing tooling to support patching, backup validation, resilience testing, and reporting.
  • Supporting AI-assisted automation initiatives where applicable, including telemetry ingestion and analytics-driven workflows.
  • Collaborating with Leaders, Engineers and Operations teams member to identify manual processes suitable for automation.
  • Participating in code reviews and adhering to established coding standards and governance frameworks.
  • Documenting automation solutions, technical designs, and operational procedures.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving automation-related incidents and defects.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the automation and engineering domains
KEY COMPETENCIES
To succeed in this role, you will have the following experience and competencies.
  • Hands-on experience developing in Python for automation or infrastructure-related solutions.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and integrating with external systems.
  • Experience with automation and IaC tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing principles.
  • Exposure to Linux environments and scripting (Bash or similar).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug automation workflows and network-related issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
