Network & Infrastructure Specialist



The Network & Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of NEC’s core IT infrastructure across the Head Office, ECTRON, and branch locations. This includes managing network connectivity, cybersecurity, servers, and related systems to ensure secure, stable, and high-performance IT operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:


  1.  Administer, configure, and maintain FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing policies, and network infrastructure.
  2.  Manage NEC’s core infrastructure including network switches, wireless systems, servers, storage, and backup devices.
  3.  Implement, monitor, and maintain network and security configurations to safeguard NEC’s systems and data.
  4.  Conduct regular infrastructure health checks, security assessments, and performance optimization.
  5.  Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to connectivity, hardware, or system performance, coordinating with ISPs and vendors when necessary.
  6. Support connectivity and infrastructure integration with Oman Data Park (ODP) and other external environments.
  7. Maintain comprehensive network and infrastructure documentation including topology diagrams, IP addressing, and configuration records.
  8.  Collaborate with IT, ERP, and operations teams on new projects, upgrades, and infrastructure expansions.
  9.  Ensure adherence to NEC’s IT policies, security standards, and data backup procedures.
  10.   Participate in planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity measures.
  11. Provide technical guidance and escalation support to IT helpdesk and support personnel.
  12. Contribute to infrastructure design improvements and capacity planning to meet organizational growth.


Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of network and server administration, routing and switching, firewalls, virtualization, and backup systems.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple infrastructure environments efficiently.

•  Effective communication and coordination with cross-functional and vendor teams.


Experience/Qualifications Needed:


• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

•Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, VMware, or Microsoft Infrastructure are preferred.

•Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise network, server, and security infrastructure including FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and virtualization systems.
