Network Server Maintenance

Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth functioning, reliability, and security of the hospital’s IT infrastructure including servers, network systems, and related hardware/software. The role supports uninterrupted hospital operations, patient data management, and secure communication channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Server Management:

Monitor, configure, and maintain hospital servers (database, application, storage, and backup).

Regularly perform system updates, patches, and security checks.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and data access controls.

Network Administration:

Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.

Ensure secure connectivity across hospital branches, labs, and admin offices.

Troubleshoot network issues and minimize downtime.

Data Security & Backup:

Implement data backup and recovery systems to protect sensitive patient and hospital data.

Maintain compliance with healthcare IT security standards.

Monitor unauthorized access attempts and apply preventive measures.

System Maintenance:

Perform regular health checks of IT equipment, servers, and networks.

Ensure uninterrupted access to hospital management software (HMS/ERP).

Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software troubleshooting.

Support & Training:

Provide IT support to hospital staff for connectivity, login, and system usage.

Train staff on data security best practices and safe IT usage.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain records of server/network configurations, updates, and incidents.

Prepare periodic IT performance and downtime reports for management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Certification preferred: CCNA, MCSA, RHCE, or equivalent.

Hands-on experience in server and network management (minimum 2–3 years).

Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, firewalls, VPN, and cloud systems.

Ability to troubleshoot IT issues quickly and effectively.

Good communication and coordination skills.
