Network System Engineer

Freedom Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş. is the brokerage firm of Freedom Holding, a dynamic and rapidly growing financial services company operating in the banking, brokerage, and insurance sectors, now preparing to launch operations in Turkey.

As part of our strategic expansion plans in the MENA region, we are looking for an experienced and proactive team member to join us in for the position of System, Server Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Design, Implement & Maintain: Develop and maintain the company's network infrastructure.

• VLAN Planning & Implementation:

1. Design, plan, implement, and support VLANs to ensure logical network segmentation, enhanced security, and efficient traffic management.
2. Document VLAN structure and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

• Equipment Configuration: Configure, set up, and support network equipment, with a primary focus on Fortigate devices.

• Network Security: Ensure network security.

• Access Control Lists (ACL) & Firewall Rules:

1. Develop, document, and apply ACLs and firewall rules to control access between network segments, services, and the Internet.
2. Maintain and optimize firewall policies in accordance with security best practices.
3. Demonstrate understanding of how to design, write, and troubleshoot firewall rules (including NAT, policy, and object-based rules) on Fortigate and other common platforms.

• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues within the network infrastructure.

• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external vendors.

• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and participate in planning network development.

Requirements

- Protocols & Technologies:

• In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and core network protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

• Experience with dynamic routing protocols, specifically OSPF and BGP.

• Proven experience in configuring VPN connections: IPsec, SSL-VPN, SSTP. - VLANs:

• Practical experience in planning, configuring, and supporting VLANs across wired and wireless infrastructure.

• Ability to design and implement VLAN-based segmentation to meet business, security, and scalability requirements.

- Access Control Lists (ACL) and Firewall Rules:

• Hands-on experience in creating, managing, and auditing ACLs and firewall rules to enforce network segmentation and security requirements.

• Ability to write clear and effective access rules (permit/deny), leverage security objects, and understand rule processing order and impact.

- Equipment:

• Practical experience working with network equipment from leading manufacturers.

• Proficiency in configuring routers, switches, and firewalls.

- Wireless Networks:

• Ability to design, implement, and diagnose wireless networks.

- Network Security Tools:

• Understanding of network security tools such as IPS (Intrusion Prevention Systems), AV (Antivirus), and SSL Inspection.

• Ability to publish external services in accordance with required security standards.

• Solid understanding of network perimeters, DMZ zones, and overall security architecture.

- OSI Model:

• Strong understanding of the OSI model and its application for troubleshooting and optimizing network solutions across all layers (Physical, Data Link, Network, Transport, Session, Presentation, Application).

- Tools:

• Proficiency in using network monitoring and analysis tools.
