Job description

Looking for a Neurologist or Neurosurgeon with experienced with TBI to care for our Veterans with traumatic brain injury in a clinic facility. As a traumatic brain injury examiner, you will be conducting initial traumatic brain injury exams and completing applicable disability benefits questionnaires (DBQs). DBQs help collect necessary medical information so that the VA may process a Veteran’s disability claims. The candidate will provide physical exams for the Veterans without treatment. The ideal candidate will be responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best care. Exams are one-time, non-treatment exams for individual Veterans in your area. Exams are guided by VA questionnaires on our secure, online portal for ease and efficiency. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The candidate will get pay as 1099 independent contractor.

Responsibilities

  • General Medical Exams
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Mini-Mental State Exam
  • Montreal Cognitive Assessment
  • Submit information gathered through an online portal for the VA to review as part of a compensation/pension claim.
  • All exams will take place at approved facilities with own laptop and internet access provided.
  • Must be able to perform exams a minimum of 1 to 3 days per week

Qualifications:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury Requirements
  • Doctorate degree from an accredited medical school and has completed residency in the field of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Psychiatry.
  • Board certified or Board Eligible
  • Active state license in good standing.
  • Malpractice insurance (If applicable)
  • Computer, reliable internet
  • Lives within 50-100 miles driving distance to the needs, with closer proximity preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $500.00 - $900.00 per day
