Position Summary
The PA – Neurology collaborates with neurologists and a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive neurological care across inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including evaluation, treatment planning, procedures, and ongoing patient management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform neurological history, physical exams, and assessments for new and established patients.
- Diagnose and manage conditions including epilepsy, stroke, MS, Parkinson's, headache disorders, neuropathy, and dementia.
- Order and interpret EEG, EMG, MRI, CT, and lumbar punctures.
- Develop and modify treatment and medication plans with supervising neurologist.
- Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures and botulinum toxin injections.
- Conduct inpatient neurology consultations and rounding.
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses and care plans.
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with PCPs and specialists.
- Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current NCCPA certification (PA-C) in good standing.
- Active state licensure or eligibility in Texas.
- Minimum 1–2 years of neurology or related specialty experience.
- Strong knowledge of neurological disorders and evidence-based treatment.
- Proficiency with EHR systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of dedicated neurology PA experience.
- Experience with inpatient neurology consult or stroke programs.
- Familiarity with EMG/EEG interpretation or botulinum toxin administration.
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, or comparable EHR.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
- This is a contractor position that pays $125/Per Consult
Pay: $125.00 per hour
