Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Works to assure successful survey process outcomes for disease specific certification; role requires flexibility in hours due to survey preparedness.
  • Provides administration/leadership an oversight of all activities concerning the achievement of continuous regulatory and survey readiness. Ensures strategic and operational implementation of regulatory requirements, guidelines, and standards of federal, state, and local licensing agencies, accrediting and certifying organizations.
  • Directs strategic and operational implementation of regulatory requirements, guidelines, and standards of federal, state, and local licensing agencies, accrediting and certifying organizations, along with safety policies and procedures and professional standards of the organization.
  • Assists in the establishment of operational performance measurements and the monitoring of trends in key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Maintains knowledge of current accreditation and regulatory trends, guidance, standards, and requirements to ensure facility survey readiness and compliance and collaborates with Administration/Leadership Team.
  • Establishes and maintains proactive system for continual survey readiness with division, facility key stakeholders and department leaders. Managing the processes and audits, where appropriate.
  • Review and conduct risk assessments/audits to assess compliance with regulations and identify potential risks or areas of non-compliance.
  • Recommends monitoring activities and determines effectiveness of interventions to meet desired outcomes.
  • Educates staff and physicians on standards compliance and assessment / treatment per evidence-based practices.
  • Utilizes and facilitates research that supports and advances nursing practice which meets standard requirements.
  • Assists facility staff to achieve competencies around care of the neuroscience patient; utilizes a multidisciplinary education plan to include all disciplines who are involved in the care of this patient population including physicians.
  • Works collaboratively with department directors to evaluate educational needs of staff and develops and implements plans to meet those identified needs in conjunction with the Organizational Development department and unit Clinical Resource Nurses. Utilizes innovative and diverse educational methods to best meet the needs of the staff.
  • Assists in assuring that appropriate standards of care, practice and performance, and policy and procedures are in place through direct observation of clinical practice and collaboration with the management team.
  • Functions as a member of the healthcare team to facilitate and promote teamwork toward promotion of quality patient care.
  • Communicates effectively, both written and verbally, with all members of the healthcare team, customers and key stakeholders.
  • Fosters a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization, promoting program compliancy.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Required Current Virginia State licensure by the State Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse or compact license.
  • Preferred Specialty Certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
