Nevada Ready! Pre-K Teacher – Job Description
Position Summary

The Nevada Ready! Pre-K Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood education program aligned with Nevada Ready! Pre-K standards. The teacher will foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development of all children.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field
  • Registered with the Nevada Registry (active status)
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (current)
  • Current TB Test
  • Background Check (per Nevada licensing and NR!PK requirements)
  • Meets all Nevada Ready! Pre-K teacher qualification standards
  • Bilingual

Additional Required & Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Nevada Ready! Pre-K Performance Standards
  • Experience implementing an evidence-based curriculum approved for NR!PK
  • Familiarity with child assessment tools (e.g., Teaching Strategies GOLD or similar)
  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
  • Ability to support dual language learners and children with diverse learning needs
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive behavior guidance
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills with children, families, and staff
  • Ability to work collaboratively with co-teachers, administrators, and coaches
  • Maintain 24 hours yearly continued education

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans aligned with NR!PK guidelines
  • Create a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Conduct ongoing child observations and assessments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports as required by NR!PK
  • Participate in required professional development and coaching
  • Build positive relationships with families and support family engagement
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing, health, and safety regulations
  • Maintain ratios and supervise children at all times

Physical & Professional Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to sit on the floor, stand, bend, and move throughout the day
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality
