A New Product Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in turning innovative ideas into market-ready products. They oversee the entire development process—from initial concept and design through prototyping, testing, and final production—ensuring that technical feasibility, quality standards, and project timelines are met. Working closely with cross-functional teams such as design, manufacturing, marketing, and quality assurance, they bridge the gap between creative vision and practical execution. Their responsibilities often include managing project schedules, coordinating resources, troubleshooting technical challenges, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Ultimately, a New Product Project Engineer combines engineering expertise with strong project management skills to deliver products that meet customer needs and align with business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Responsible for developing structured timelines, guidelines, and maintaining projects list.
  • Designs and modifies jigs, fixtures and tooling to improve manufacturing methods and improve quality.
  • Develop work instructions for production processes.
  • Serve as point of contact for separate departments to ensure they are working as one team towards the end goal.
  • Lead APQP meetings for new product launches ensuring everyone completes their designated items on time.
  • Understanding each department’s responsibilities and work with individual managers on any obstacles they encounter.
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
  • Maintain Quality control of the project throughout development to maintain expected standards.
  • Actively manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Use SolidWorks for design purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on mechanical background with project-based work experience.
  • PLC knowledge/programming.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Experience with ERP systems, PPAP and APQP
  • Excellent communication skills and can comfortably interact with customers and all levels of the team
  • Experience with lean tools and manufacturing practices.

All candidates must complete a mandatory drug screening and background check and successfully pass both assessments before being extended a formal job offer. This ensures that all prospective employees meet the necessary criteria and adhere to the company’s standard, ultimately contributing to the maintenance of a safe and trustworthy workplace environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $112,000.00 per year
