New York State Licensed Attorney

Position Summary:
National Insurance Advocates is seeking an experienced attorney, duly licensed to practice law in the State of New York, to serve as our local counsel on an hourly basis. The attorney will represent our firm by attending court proceedings on our behalf in active matters pending within New York State courts.

Scope of Representation:
This engagement is strictly limited to court appearances and related communications in the capacity of local counsel. The selected attorney will be expected to attend:

  • Scheduling conferences
  • Status conferences
  • Motion hearings
  • Oral arguments
  • Other court-requested proceedings

This role does not include depositions, discovery work, drafting, or substantive briefing unless separately requested and agreed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Appear in court as local counsel for National Insurance Advocates in assigned matters
  • Provide concise post-appearance summaries and action items to lead counsel
  • Communicate all directives, orders, or scheduling changes issued by the Court
  • Maintain professional decorum and effective communication with the Court and opposing counsel

Required Qualifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of New York and in good standing
  • Demonstrated courtroom experience and strong oral advocacy skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsive communication
  • Ability to appear on short notice when necessary

Compensation:

  • The attorney’s compensation is calculated based on billable hours recorded (I.e., compensation for court appearances, reasonable preparation time, etc.)
