We are seeking highly experienced Newborn Care Specialists (sometimes called baby nurses) and postpartum doulas to provide daytime and overnight newborn care for families in the Washington, DC metro area.

What You’ll Do

• Provide safe, attentive, and nurturing care for newborns.
• Support parents with feeding (breastfeeding, pumping, formula).
• Help establish healthy sleep and feeding routines
• Offer postpartum support to families, including education and recovery guidance.
• Assist with light nursery organization and baby laundry.
• Provide reassurance and professional guidance during the early weeks at home.

Requirements

• 3+ years of dedicated professional newborn care experience
• Must be legal to work in the US
• Excellent communication skills
• Up-to-date vaccinations (TDAP and flu required COVID recommended).
• Strong, verifiable newborn care references.
• Professionalism, discretion, and reliability.

Compensation

• $30–$50/hour, depending on your experience and services.
• You quote your own rate — families pay you directly.
