Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Newborn Nanny to provide exceptional care for an infant in Anacortes. This location works well for applicants living in the nearby areas of Mt Vernon, Marysville, Bellingham, Stanwood, La Conner or Arlington. This dedicated caregiver will support the family by providing the newborn with care through their early developmental stages, ensuring safety, comfort, and growth. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, a passion for childcare, and a proactive approach to creating a warm and stimulating environment for little ones. Duties
- Provide attentive, loving care tailored to the unique needs of newborns and infants, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and sleep routines
- Assist with developmental activities that promote growth, such as tummy time, sensory play, and age-appropriate learning experiences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks related to childcare, including cleaning bottles, toys, and nursery areas
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks suitable for infants’ dietary requirements and assist with bottle feeding or breastfeeding support as needed
- Monitor infants’ health closely; administer first aid when necessary and communicate any concerns to parents promptly
- Support families with routines such as nap schedules, bathing, dressing, and developmental milestones tracking
- Engage in ongoing communication with parents about their child’s progress and daily activities to ensure consistency and reassurance
Skills
- Proven experience in newborn and infant caregiving with references demonstrating reliability and compassion
- Certification in first aid and CPR specific to infants and children to ensure safety at all times
- Strong skills in meal preparation tailored to infants’ nutritional needs
- Ability to perform light cleaning duties related to childcare environments effectively
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Knowledge of preschool activities, toddler care, daycare routines, babysitting practices, and teaching fundamentals for early childhood development
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents and providing detailed updates on the child’s well-being
