Full-Time News Helicopter Photojournalist – Washington, DC / Fort Meade, MD

Helicopters Inc., a leading helicopter operator supporting TV news in 30+ markets, is hiring a full-time News Helicopter Photojournalist for our Washington, DC / Fort Meade, MD operation.

In this role, you are not just operating a camera—you are a key member of a fast-paced, two-person flight crew responsible for capturing live aerial coverage of breaking news, traffic, and major events in real time. You will operate gyro-stabilized camera systems, support live news production under tight deadlines, and assist the pilot with navigation throughout the Washington, DC metro area and surrounding Maryland region.

Requirements:

• ENG (Electronic News Gathering), TV news photography, drone, or freelance video background
• Familiarity with Cineflex, GSS, Immortal, Shotover M1, or similar systems preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform under pressure in rapidly changing situations
• Strong knowledge of the Washington, DC / Maryland region
• Must reside within 1 hour of Fort Meade Executive Airport (FME)
