News Moderator

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and impartial News Moderator to review, monitor, and manage news content across digital platforms.

The role focuses on ensuring all published content complies with editorial guidelines, community standards, and legal requirements while maintaining accuracy, neutrality, and public trust.

What You’ll Do

Content Review & Moderation

• Review news articles, headlines, images, videos, and user comments

• Approve, restrict, label, or remove content based on moderation policies

• Identify hate speech, violence, misinformation, and prohibited content

• Apply moderation decisions consistently and fairly

Accuracy & Misinformation Control

• Verify sources and cross-check facts using reliable references

• Flag or escalate misleading or false information

• Apply fact-check labels or warnings where required

• Monitor emerging misinformation trends

Policy Enforcement & Compliance

• Enforce editorial guidelines and community standards

• Ensure compliance with media laws, copyright rules, and platform regulations

• Document moderation actions for audit and reporting purposes

• Escalate sensitive or high-risk cases when necessary

Monitoring & Trend Analysis

• Monitor real-time news feeds and user engagement

• Identify harmful or misleading trends early

• Adjust moderation strategies during high-traffic or crisis events

• Add 30–50 news items daily in GCC and Global sections

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with editors, journalists, and fact-checking teams

• Communicate moderation decisions clearly and professionally

• Participate in editorial meetings and feedback sessions

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain logs of moderation actions and decisions

• Prepare daily or weekly reports

• Track policy violations and recurring risks

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in news moderation, digital publishing, or editorial roles

• Exposure to financial or business-related content is preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Finance, Business, Communications, or a related field

Skills

• Understanding of financial markets and economic trends

• Proficiency in CMS tools for content review and publishing

• Basic knowledge of SEO for headlines and content structure

• Familiarity with AI translation tools is an advantage

• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities

Languages

• English (Advanced proficiency)

• Arabic (Preferred)
