NICU - CHIEF RESIDENT REQUIRED

The NICU Chief Resident supervises resident doctors and provides advanced medical care to critically ill and premature newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role includes clinical leadership, patient management, resident training, and coordination of NICU operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise care of NICU patients.
  • Lead resident doctors during rounds, procedures, and emergencies.
  • Participate in neonatal resuscitation and critical care management.
  • Coordinate with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with NICU protocols.
  • Prepare resident duty schedules and support departmental operations.
  • Conduct teaching sessions and mentor junior residents.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement, and clinical meetings.

Qualifications

  • MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
  • Residency training in Pediatrics.
  • Experience or training in Neonatology/NICU.
  • Valid medical license/registration.

For Bahrain, licensing may involve the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).

Experience

  • 3–5 years of Pediatrics/NICU experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is an advantage.
