NIGHT AUDITOR AT THE READ HOUSE HOTEL

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Night Auditor you will assist guests with overnight requests and perform daily accounting duties and perform general accounting and account balance duties from the day shift. Your professional and outgoing personality will ensure our guests experience an exceptional stay at our historic property!
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provide a positive and friendly guest experience
Make, modify, and cancel reservations as requested by guests
Complete guest check in and check out procedures
Collect payment from guests, issue receipts and change; abide by all cash handling procedures.
Handle all guest issues promptly and professionally
Coordinate guest requests with other departments
Respond to and compose emails regarding front desk and guest reservations activities
Confidently and accurately share the history of the hotel with guests
Balance the cash drawer and log receipts
Run audit reports and journals from the front office system
Reconcile daily accounts to keep accurate financial records and ledgers
Account and prepare daily deposits; complete accounting daily reporting and assist in other accounting duties as needed
Send out all require end-of-day reports to management staff
Assist in nightly maintenance tasks to continue smooth operation of hotel functions when needed
Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
Job Requirements
Education/ Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
At least one year of hotel front desk or related experience required
At least one year of accounting and/ or related experience preferred
Experience with Opera PMS, M3 Accounting, and Micros POS platforms preferred
Skills:
Excellent computer skills, such as typing and use of various computer software
Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management
Ability to access and accurately input information into the applicable systems
Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail
Basic mathematical skills
Ability to problem solve and work independently with little supervision
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, sometimes for entire shift
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
Hear at a basic level and communicate with coworkers and guests
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with changing variables
Ability to apply patience and understanding to all persons and situations
Ability to perform well under pressure to meet the needs of guests, team members and/ or management.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc.
This position requires the ability to work both in a fast-paced and quiet working environment.
