Job Summary
The Night Auditor represents the hotel throughout all stages of a guest’s stay by delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth overnight operations. This role works closely with all hotel departments to provide guests with a welcoming experience from check-in to checkout. Responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, and ensuring accurate overnight financial reporting and front desk operations.
The Night Auditor audits, balances, and reports on various hotel operations including rooms, front desk activity, and other hotel departments to provide accurate and timely financial information regarding the hotel’s daily operational performance. This position also oversees front office operations during the overnight shift.
Job Duties
- Check front office accounting records for accuracy and compile information for hotel financial records.
- Track room revenue, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics.
- Prepare summaries of cash, check, and credit card activities reflecting the hotel’s daily financial performance.
- Post room charges and room taxes to guest accounts and process guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.
- Verify all account postings and balances while resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Summarize operational results and prepare reports for hotel management.
- Perform Front Desk Agent duties including guest check-in, check-out, reservations, and responding to guest requests.
- Provide professional and courteous service to guests to ensure a positive hotel experience.
- Maintain safety and security awareness during overnight operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous hotel experience preferred.
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to operate front office systems, computers, and standard office equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to compile facts and figures accurately.
- Understanding of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts preferred.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
