Duties

• Execute thorough cleaning routines across all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to uphold high standards of cleanliness.
• Perform detailed carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment to remove stains and maintain appearance.
• Conduct buffing and polishing of floors to restore shine and prolong flooring lifespan.
• Maintain janitorial supplies inventory, restock cleaning carts, and ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
• Follow safety protocols during cleaning procedures to prevent slips, trips, and falls, ensuring a secure environment for all staff members.
• Assist with environmental services tasks such as waste disposal, window cleaning, and restroom sanitation.
• Document completed tasks accurately in shift logs and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.

Experience

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience in a commercial or institutional setting is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with various cleaning techniques including carpet cleaning, floor buffing, and general sanitation practices.
• Knowledge of environmental services standards and best practices for maintaining hygienic spaces.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, extractors, and other floor care tools safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards during overnight shifts.
• Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks within scheduled hours while ensuring quality work.
