Accessioning Clerk/Phlebotomist

We are looking to hire a highly motivated Night Shift Lab Assistant/Accessioning Clerk/Phlebotomist (Edison NJ), who is adept at working in all environments. Must be efficient, accurate, and detail-oriented with an innate drive to provide exceptional service and have the ability to handle specimens in a clinical laboratory setting.
Job Summary:
Receive, sort and provide accurate data entry for all specimens entering the laboratory. The accession clerk will accurately transpose accession numbers generated for each specimen by scanning to a file for processing approval. The accession clerk will follow the direction of the supervisor while taking initiative in performing and promoting quality and efficiency within the department.

Job Requirements:
⦁ Blood Samples and Urine samples for the lab tech
⦁ Preparing specimen at workstation for testing
⦁ Assist technologist and technicians with the operation of standard laboratory instruments as directed by management
⦁ Receive, transcribes and enter demographic and specimen data into the laboratory information system. Performs data entry and track specimens
⦁ Ensures correct entries of specimen data into computer system, prepares samples for further laboratory analysis and transports specimens to other labs and clinical departments
⦁ Maintains an active role in the laboratory quality improvement program including performance and evaluation of key laboratory outcome indicators.
⦁ Performs assigned pre-analytical activities related to the elements of laboratory testing for all age groups.
⦁ Secures information by completing database and back-ups
⦁ Assist other lab personnel with specimen
Skills/Qualifications:
Knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook and demonstrated experience in accurate data entry.
Responsible for performing accessioning tasks on specimens received in the laboratory
Education:

• High school Diploma- equivalent GED (minimum)
• Phlebotomy Certificate (Required)
• Job Type: Full-time (Night shift 9pm-6am) On-Site (Edison)
• Tuesday to Saturday

Compensation based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
