Position Overview

As a Night Shift Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly by scheduling drivers, coordinating routes, and ensuring timely delivery of loads. This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Schedule drivers for pickups and deliveries, optimizing route efficiency
  • Monitor weather and road conditions; communicate delays and route changes
  • Track driver hours to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Maintain consistent communication with drivers and customers
  • Accurately enter and audit load data in TMW transportation software
  • Dispatch loads via Peoplenet when applicable
  • Ensure customer delivery requirements are met and communicate any variances
  • Prepare and communicate shift reports to management
  • Audit prior-day loads and resolve discrepancies
  • Support billing and payroll accuracy through system corrections
  • Respond promptly to customer and producer inquiries

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in random testing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Experience in transportation/logistics industry
  • Familiarity with TMW software

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is primarily office-based but includes time in a terminal and outdoor environments. Candidates should be comfortable with:

  • Prolonged sitting and computer use
  • Occasional walking between operational areas
  • Light physical activity (lifting up to 20 lbs.)
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and equipment
