Position Summary

The Night Shift Pre-Fabrication Foreman is responsible for overseeing all pre-fabrication operations during the night shift, cutting, pressing, and seam welding. This role ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards while leading and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate night shift pre-fabrication personnel. Including but not limited to burn table operators, press brake operators and seam weld operators.
  • Oversee all pre-fabrication activities such as material staging, cutting, drilling, and component preparation.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently to meet deadlines and downstream fabrication needs.
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate interpretation and execution of project requirements.
  • Monitor work quality to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations.
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures; conduct regular safety meetings and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and day shift leadership to ensure seamless shift transitions and workflow continuity.
  • Identify and resolve production issues in real time to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members; support skill development and performance improvement.
  • Maintain proper material inventory levels and ensure tools and equipment are in safe, working condition.
  • Track and report production metrics, labor hours, material usage, and shift performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all night shift pre-fabrication operations.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and varying temperatures.

Willingness to work night shift hours, including overtime as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel fabrication, with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman role.

Strong experience in pre-fabrication processes (cutting, bending, and material preparation).

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

Knowledge of welding processes and steel fabrication techniques relevant to pole and structural manufacturing.

Demonstrated leadership, team building, and conflict-resolution skills.

Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across shifts and departments.

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school education preferred.
