Overview
To effectively lead, motivate, and support the production team to deliver consistent, high-quality manufacturing performance in line with business objectives and strategic goals. The role involves ensuring that production targets, efficiency, quality, and safety standards are achieved while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The Assistant Shift Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise processes, manage resources efficiently, and maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Responsibilities:
ERP & Production Reporting
- Ensure all production activities, raw material consumption, and finished goods are accurately recorded in the ERP system Microsoft business central.
- Monitor production KPIs (output, OEE, waste, downtime) and provide real-time reporting.
- Validate and approve system transactions to ensure data accuracy for inventory and traceability.
Warehouse & Inventory Returns
- Manage and record material returns to warehouse with proper documentation in ERP.
- Ensure reconciliation of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods at shift end.
- Work closely with warehouse/logistics to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize variances.
Production & Operations Management
- Oversee shift production to achieve daily/weekly/monthly production targets.
- Plan and allocate manpower efficiently across production lines.
- Ensure minimum downtime through proactive coordination with maintenance and QA teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, waste reduction, and resource utilization.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with safety, food safety (HACCP & GMP), and hygiene standards on the shop floor.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure immediate corrective actions.
- Promote a zero-accident culture during the shift.
Audit & Documentation
- Maintain audit-ready records for production, safety, and quality compliance.
- Ensure all SOPs, checklists, and logs are updated, signed off, and properly stored.
- Support internal and external audits (quality, safety, regulatory)
People Management
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the shift workforce to meet operational goals.
- Handle workforce discipline, attendance, and training needs during the shift.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and high performance among operators and line leaders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- ERP transaction accuracy and timeliness
- Production numbers vs. plan
- Material reconciliation and return-to-warehouse compliance
- Safety compliance and zero lost-time accidents
- Audit readiness and documentation compliance
- Labor productivity and attendance management
Any other reasonable duties responsibilities or request that may be issued by management from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in food/FMCG manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a shift supervisory/managerial role.
- Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft or equivalent).
- Proven experience in manpower management and production reporting.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC).

Nights - 4 on, 4 off - 6pm-6am
