Non-Commercial Driver's License Driver

Position Summary

The Septic Pumper (Non-CDL) is responsible for operating smaller vacuum pump trucks (under CDL weight limits) to pump, clean, and service septic tanks, grease traps, and wastewater systems. This role requires physical labor, attention to safety, and comfort working in outdoor environments around sewage and wastewater materials.

Primary Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

  • Operate non-CDL vacuum pump truck safely and efficiently
  • Drive to residential and commercial service locations
  • Properly set up hoses, pumps, and suction equipment
  • Monitor tank levels and prevent overflows
  • Maintain control of equipment during pumping operations

Pumping & Waste Removal

  • Pump and clean septic tanks, grease traps, and holding tanks
  • Remove sludge, scum, and wastewater safely
  • Ensure proper disposal at approved treatment facilities
  • Follow environmental and local disposal regulations

Inspection & Basic Maintenance

  • Locate septic tanks and access lids
  • Inspect tanks for cracks, leaks, and damage
  • Identify potential system issues and report to supervisor
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of truck and equipment
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete service tickets and disposal logs
  • Maintain accurate daily route and service records
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and company policies
  • Use proper PPE (gloves, boots, eye protection, etc.)

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around sewage, wastewater, grease, and groundwater
  • Lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Dig to locate buried tank lids if necessary
  • Bend, climb, and kneel during service operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License (Non-CDL)
  • Must have DOT Medical Card
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends
  • Strong work ethic and reliability

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in septic pumping or plumbing
  • Mechanical knowledge of pumps and hoses
  • Knowledge of wastewater safety procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
