Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver

Nordic Care Transportation is a veteran-owned small business that provides reliable and affordable non-emergency medical transportation to medical, dental, and optical appointments.

Summary:

As a Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver, you will be essential in providing safe and reliable transportation for patients to and from medical appointments. This role requires strong driving skills and a commitment to excellent customer service. Prior experience in delivery driving and/or familiarity with transportation operations is preferred. Additionally, an ability to communicate effectively and perform daily vehicle maintenance checks is required.

Qualified applicants must be at least 25, able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a clean driving record. Must have a smartphone and be able to bring up maps and scan in paperwork. Available for early morning hours. Professional driving experience is preferred (truck driver, delivery driver, taxi, school bus, handicapped van). Saturday/Sunday work may be required. Weekend work is scheduled on a volunteer basis unless we are short staffed, then it will be scheduled in a rotation format.

32-40 hours per week. Nordic Care provides the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments, ensuring a comfortable and timely experience.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding and disembarking.
• Maintain the vehicle in good working condition through regular inspections and reporting necessary maintenance concerns.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members to coordinate schedules and address any issues.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Fill out, scan (via app or printer/scanner), and email paperwork in daily.
