Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Driver / Transport Specialist

Job Summary

Greco Transport is a locally owned medical transportation company specializing in stretcher, bariatric stretcher, wheelchair, and mobility transport throughout the Augusta area. We are looking for dependable, professional team members who genuinely care about people and take pride in doing things the right way.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from hospitals, rehab facilities, nursing homes, dialysis, appointments, and residences
• Operate wheelchair and stretcher transport vans safely and professionally
• Assist with patient loading/unloading using hydraulic lifts and power stretchers
• Communicate professionally with hospitals, facilities, patients, and families
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicle
• Provide compassionate and respectful care to all riders
• Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
• Maintain punctual pick-up and drop-off schedules
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, caregivers, and healthcare facilities
• Complete trip documentation accurately and timely
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and HIPAA/confidentiality guidelines

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and maneuver 50+ pounds unassisted
• Must be physically capable of repetitive lifting, pushing, and pulling
• No significant prior back injuries or physical limitations that would prevent safe patient handling
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Strong punctuality and professionalism required
• Comfortable working in hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare environments
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate under pressure
• Valid Georgia driver’s license with clean driving record
• Minimum age of 21 years old
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle report
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service preferred
• Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility needs
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor

Preferred (But Not Required)

• Prior medical transport, EMS, CNA, healthcare, or caregiving experience
• Experience with wheelchair or stretcher transport
• CPR certification
