Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Dispatcher

Join our dynamic team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Dispatcher, where you'll play a vital role in coordinating safe, reliable transportation services for patients requiring non-emergency medical travel. This energetic position involves managing multiple communication channels, utilizing advanced transportation management systems, and ensuring seamless scheduling and dispatching to meet patient needs efficiently. Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule non-emergency medical transportation requests using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
  • Utilize GPS and GIS tools to optimize routing and ensure accurate dispatching of vehicles.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear information and exceptional phone etiquette to patients, healthcare providers, and drivers.
  • Enter data accurately into transportation management and logistics systems, including AS400 and freight/shipping & receiving platforms.
  • Monitor fleet operations through fleet management software, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs while maintaining safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers via dispatching software, providing real-time updates and support during shifts.
  • Maintain detailed records of all transportation activities, including incident reports, shift logs, and inbound/outbound documentation.
  • Assist with logistics planning by analyzing data to improve efficiency in scheduling, routing, and resource allocation within the supply chain framework.

Experience

  • Proven experience in dispatching within transportation management or logistics environments.
  • Strong familiarity with GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning tools such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
  • Knowledge of freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management systems like AS400 or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analysis skills to evaluate routes, optimize schedules, and troubleshoot operational issues swiftly.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating outstanding phone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail in systems like Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Oracle TMS, or 3PL logistics platforms.
  • Experience working with supply chain processes, shipping & receiving protocols, and logistics coordination is highly desirable.
