Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver, where you will play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services to individuals requiring medical assistance. In this customer-focused position, you will operate specialized vehicles to transport ambulatory patients to medical and other appointments, ensuring comfort and safety at all times. We are seeking a hardworking, responsible, and dedicated individual to help serve the community by providing non-emergency medical transportation to those in need. Your positive attitude and excellent driving skills will help us deliver exceptional service while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate non-emergency vehicles to transport patients to and from healthcare related facilities.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and passenger details in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any special needs or concerns.
  • Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during all driving activities.
  • Handle and lift medical equipment, devices, mobility aids, and luggage when necessary for loading or unloading; demonstrating physical readiness for the role.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid class C driver’s license for operating vehicles.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least a two (2) year driving history.
  • Must have at least a three (3) year clean driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with all transportation regulations.
  • Experience in transporting passengers preferred.
  • Must have strong communication skills to interact professionally with passengers and team members.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills that require patience, empathy, positive attitude, and clear communication.
  • Must have good time management skills.
  • Must be able to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks.
  • Must be a team player and able to work well with others.
  • Must be able to collaborate with the dispatcher, other drivers, and team members in a timely manner regarding pick ups and drop offs of passengers.

Pay: From $18,000.00 per year
