Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate vans to transport patients and clients to scheduled appointments
• Assist clients with boarding, disembarking, and securing wheelchair and gurneys
• Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure safety and comfort
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during every trip
• Communicate effectively with passengers, dispatchers, and healthcare facilities to coordinate schedules and address any concerns
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and report any issues promptly
• Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage as needed

Skills

• Proven experience in passenger transportation roles
• Familiarity with paratransit services and commercial driving regulations
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with diverse passengers
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting passengers or handling equipment
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and customer service excellence
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early
• Experience in wheelch and gurney operations is a plus but not required
