We are seeking a motivated and dependable Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle buses, limousines, and paratransit vans to transport patients to medical appointments, pharmacies, and other destinations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the trip.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during every trip to guarantee passenger safety.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist passengers with mobility aids or luggage.
- Keep detailed records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
Experience
- Prior shuttle driving or delivery driver experience is highly preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of safe driving practices.
- Experience operating buses, limousines, or commercial vehicles such as heavy-duty trucks or school buses is advantageous.
- Familiarity with paratransit services or similar non-emergency transportation operations is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting professionally with passengers and team members.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and basic repairs when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely while assisting passengers or managing equipment.
- A valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required depending on vehicle specifications.
