Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver to join our team. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service. As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers on assigned routes while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate vehicles, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and safety protocols.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing excellent customer service throughout the journey.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate schedules and address any issues that may arise during transit.
• Follow schedule, GPS, and company apps and report regularly to dispatch either telephonically or via the company app.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle to provide a safe and pleasant environment for passengers or cargo.

Skills

• Proven experience in bus driving, van driving, or commercial driving is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining vehicle records and schedules.
• A valid driver's license appropriate is required.
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug test.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• No more than two chargeable accidents or moving violations in the past three years, nor a driver’s license suspension or revocation within the past five years.
• Ability to complete required vehicle driver and safety training.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to manage and re-direct client behaviors.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to push, or pull people in wheelchairs up to 300 lbs.
• Ability to bend and stoop to strap wheelchairs safely to vehicles.

Education and Experience:

• CPR certification preferred.
• High School Education or GED preferred.
