Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Duties

  • Safely operate paratransit vehicles transportation to pick up and drop off clients at designated medical facilities, homes, or community centers
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, including those with mobility challenges, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met
  • Communicate clearly with clients to provide friendly service, answer questions, and coordinate pick-up and drop-off times effectively
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during each shift to ensure passenger safety at all times
  • Keep accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and any incidents or maintenance needs encountered during your shift
  • Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist with mobility devices or luggage while maintaining a respectful and caring attitude

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL for bus driving or commercial license) with a clean driving record
  • Experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine services preferred
  • Knowledge of paratransit operations and familiarity with heavy lifting techniques required for assisting passengers
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, healthcare providers, and team members
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and identify potential issues early
  • Prior experience as a school bus driver or commercial driver is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and passenger safety
