Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments, treatment centers, pharmacies, and other approved destinations.
• Provide courteous and professional assistance to passengers as needed.
• Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
• Accommodate mobility aids such as walkers, folding wheelchairs, and other personal equipment when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable vehicle for passengers.
• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Accurately document trips and communicate effectively with dispatch when required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no major violations or at-fault accidents within the past five years.
• Reliable personal vehicle in good operating condition.
• Current vehicle registration and proof of insurance meeting state minimum requirements.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Smartphone with data access for trip management and communication.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient when working with seniors and individuals with mobility challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in NEMT, rideshare, healthcare transportation, caregiving, or customer service.
• Experience assisting individuals with disabilities, seniors, or those with limited mobility.

Vehicle Requirements

• Four-door vehicle with seating for at least four passengers.
• Vehicle must pass any required safety inspections.
• Clean interior and exterior appearance.
• Working air conditioning and heating systems.
