Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver

Position Responsibilities

• Safely transport ambulatory and wheelchair patients to medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospital discharges, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare destinations
• Assist passengers with professionalism, patience, and compassion
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicle
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, healthcare staff, patients, and families
• Complete vehicle inspections and follow company safety standards
• Represent Shannon NEMT in a professional manner at all times

Physical Requirements

This position is active and requires team members to regularly:

• Sit for extended periods while driving
• Stand for periods throughout the day
• Walk long distances at hospitals and healthcare facilities
• Kneel, bend, and assist with passenger securement
• Push and maneuver occupied wheelchairs safely
• Enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the shift

Applicants should be comfortable working in various weather conditions and maintaining a physically active workday.

Schedule Requirements

• Standard shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• At least one scheduled weekend per month is required
• Occasional overtime opportunities available based on operational needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Customer service or healthcare transportation experience preferred (but not required)
