Non-Fiction Publicity & Marketing Assistant (Full Time/Remote)

OVERVIEW:

Page Street Publishing Co., distributed by Macmillan, is looking for a bright, savvy, creative, detail-oriented, entry-level Publicity & Marketing Assistant. This person will work closely with the publicity and marketing staff, as well as authors to coordinate and support Page Street’s marketing efforts. The ideal candidate would be a quick learner, organized, enthusiastic, have strong communication skills, and an excellent multi-tasker.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Fulfilling image and content requests.
  • Coordinating warehouse orders and shipping labels for books, authors, agents, media, and influencers.
  • Creating informational sales materials, including launch presentations, sales presentations, tip sheets and sell sheets.
  • Distributing information pertaining to media hits, preorders, and sales to different groups.
  • Coordinating, attending, documenting author meetings as well as attending staff meetings.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Publicity and Marketing teams, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Assisting with the creation of press materials and collaborating on marketing and publicity campaigns with other publicists.
  • Organizing internal project management systems within the Publicity and Marketing Department.
  • Corresponding with editorial, design, and sales departments at Page Street and Macmillan to improve processes and answer questions.
  • Will also have the opportunity to handle publicity campaigns after a period of settling in, under the guidance of the Publicity and Marketing Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to mutli-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced working environment often wearing multiple hats.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in cooking and/or other lifestyle topics would be a plus, but not essential
  • Previous experience at a bookstore, library, or other ventures involving books would be a plus, but not required

This position is open to remote candidates in the following states: Alabama, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Massachusetts. Candidates outside these states can apply on a 1099 basis.

The salary is $40,000 annually, with yearly reviews. Benefits include a four day work week, cover 70% of health benefits with a top tier plan, and a generous personal time off policy.
