Non-Resident Train Engineer (f/m/d)

For Saudi Arabia, we are looking for a passionate Non-Resident Train Engineer (m/f/d).

Responsibilities
  • Review technical submissions, design documentation, and rolling stock system specifications to ensure compliance with Employer Requirements, safety criteria, and operational concepts.
  • Support and oversee rolling stock testing & commissioning activities - including FAT, SAT, dynamic tests, emergency braking tests, trial running, and system demonstrations - ensuring compliance with the line's performance and safety requirements.
  • Verify the integration of rolling stock with signalling/ATC, telecommunications, PSDs, power supply, depot systems, SCADA, and OCC/TCC interfaces required for UTO operations.
  • Review contractor reports, NCRs, incident logs, technical assessments, and diagnostic data, ensuring timely resolution of faults and technical non conformities.
  • Provide expert oversight for rolling stock readiness functions, including train preparation/de preparation, safety critical functions, degraded modes, and evacuation procedures.
  • Coordinate with PMCM teams, rolling stock suppliers, O&M Entities, and stakeholders to re-solve technical issues and ensure full rolling stock integration within the wider system.
  • Monitor adherence to RAMS requirements and verify rolling stock performance against operational benchmarks, reliability targets, and system availability metrics.
  • Prepare technical reports, rolling stock assessments, commissioning updates, and compliance documentation for Employer review as part of PMCM reporting requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, with 12+ years of rolling stock engineering experience
  • Strong technical background in rolling stock engineering, rail vehicle performance, subsystems integration, and interface management within metro or rail projects.
  • Solid understanding of UTO operational concepts, signalling/ATC interfaces, telecoms integration, PSD coordination, traction power dependencies, and depot processes.
  • Experience supporting FAT/SAT, dynamic testing, trial running, emergency scenarios, and safety critical functional validation.
  • Ability to analyze rolling stock documentation, test reports, NCRs, failure logs, and compliance evidence for technical accuracy and contract adherence.
  • Knowledge of RAMS frameworks, operational safety requirements (NFPA 130, EN standards), failure modes, and rolling stock risk mitigation practices.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for effective engagement with PMCM teams, contractors, operators, and Employer representatives.
  • High level of professional integrity, technical rigor, and adaptability suitable for a complex multi contract automated metro megaproject.
