We are looking for a skilled and proactive Nonprofit Controller to join our remote team.

Position Overview
The Nonprofit Controller will oversee financial operations for multiple nonprofit clients, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls. This role requires both technical accounting expertise and the ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day financial functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee monthly close processes for multiple nonprofit clients
• Prepare and review financial statements (Statement of Financial Position, Activities, Cash Flows)
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
• Monitor and improve internal controls and financial processes
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Support audit preparation and act as liaison with external auditors
• Oversee grant tracking, restricted funds, and revenue recognition
• Review payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership and clients

Qualifications

• CPA not required but preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong nonprofit experience
• Experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting role preferred
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including fund accounting and grant compliance
• Experience with QuickBooks Online required (Intacct or other systems a plus)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a remote environment

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
