Job Summary
The <LOCATION> Zoo is seeking a dedicated Zoo Analyst Funding to support our conservation and research initiatives through comprehensive data analysis and project evaluation. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to zoo operations, animal populations, and conservation funding. The ideal candidate will contribute to evidence-based decision-making processes that enhance our mission to promote biodiversity and public education. Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed data collection across various zoo departments, including animal health, visitor statistics, and conservation programs.
- Utilize statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata to analyze large datasets for trends and insights.
- Apply GIS tools for spatial analysis related to habitat mapping and conservation planning.
- Perform quantitative research involving statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and data visualization.
- Engage in qualitative research methods to assess program effectiveness and stakeholder feedback.
- Support clinical research efforts related to animal health or public health initiatives linked to zoo activities.
- Assist in the development of reports and presentations that communicate findings to stakeholders and funding agencies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on clinical trials or public health projects relevant to zoo operations.
Experience
- Proven experience with statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Experience with data collection methodologies in research settings.
- Knowledge of GIS applications for spatial data analysis.
- Background in clinical research, public health, or conservation science preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL or Python for data management and automation tasks.
- Prior experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Understanding of clinical trials processes is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
