About the Opportunity

People’s Solar Energy Fund is seeking a detail-oriented Notetaker to support our upcoming Board Retreat. This role is critical in capturing key discussions to ensure alignment and follow-through after the retreat.

About PSEF

The People’s Solar Energy Fund is an innovative member-organized nonprofit working to advance energy democracy by supporting the development and scaling of community-led and community-owned clean energy projects. Primarily focused on supporting frontline communities throughout the development process, PSEF was founded in 2018 to serve as a resource commons where community-based solar developers can access project capital, technical assistance and shared services and be part of a learning community of project developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Take clear, structured notes in a shared Google Doc
• Capture key decisions, themes, and areas of tension
• Document nuanced discussions from open, participant-led formats (e.g., fishbowl conversations, listening circles)
• Synthesize complex and sometimes sensitive conversations with neutrality and clarity
• Distinguish between exploratory dialogue and formal decisions/action items
• Track action items, including owners and deadlines
• Organize notes for easy post-retreat reference

Qualifications

• Strong real-time note-taking and active listening skills
• Ability to synthesize complex or ambiguous discussions into concise summaries
• Comfort working in candid, sometimes uncomfortable conversation spaces
• High attention to detail, organization, and sound judgment
• Ability to remain neutral and maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency with Google Docs in a collaborative setting
